LogisHotel CosyRestaurant Gourmand

Just 15 kilometres separate Ruoms and the Hotel Les Cèdres in Joyeuse. That means there’s no excuse to miss this beautiful medieval town, built during the 10th century around a Clunisienne abbey at the junction of three waterways. You’ll love discovering the historic centre of this village of little more than 2000 inhabitants and admire the old fortifications, notably the seven watch towers standing confidently around the gates of the town. The town is very dynamic, and if you love shopping of any kind, you’ll love its numerous shops as well as Néovinum, merchants of Ardèche wine, where you can discover the seven winemaking areas of the Southern Ardèche and its numerous wines.

Since 2008, Ruoms has also been the lively and bewitching setting for the Ardèche Aluna Festival. Every year on the 3rd weekend of June, up to 70,000 lovers of pop and rock appear to attend unique concerts from big national and international names. The 10th festival in 2017 welcomed the likes of Julien Doré, Matmata, M. Pokora, Claudio Capeo and the Vieilles Canailles. Just 20 minutes from Ruoms, the hotel is the perfect place to stay at during the festival.

Discovering the Ardèche

Must-see sights amid nature and culture

Said to have been founded by Charlemagne, who fought a battle here, Joyeuse got its name from the famous sword of Charlemagne (or so the legend goes). The medieval village between the two rivers of the Beaume and the Drobie is the ideal place from which to discover the Cévennes in the Ardèche.

Charming villages and remarkable sites

The Southern Ardèche is full of exceptional sites like the Chauvet Cave and the Aven d’Orgnac, as well as picturesque villages like Balazuc and Vogüe, both ranking among the most beautiful villages in France.

Gorges de l’Ardèche and Vallon Pont d’Arc

Fascinatingly beautiful, the Gorges de l’Ardèche are also a great place to discover a great number of activities which can be found most notably at Vallon Pont d’Arc. Right next door, the Pont d’Arc Cave, a replica of the painted Chauvet Cave, offers a unique journey into the past.
